Five mukhi is embodiment of Rudra Kalagni form of Lord Shiva who symbolises transformation and regeneration. It is ruled by planet Jupiter and hence also called Guru mala. This mala is strung as per RRCT (Rudraksha Ratna Chakra Therapy) where each bead is meticulously oriented in clockwise direction with the combined charge emanating from the sumeru bead to achieve the full potency of the mala. Japa malas are usually made of 108+1 beads where 108 represent the universe and spiritual completeness, while the +1 Guru bead honours the spiritual guide.
