Foods for Balancing Ajna Chakra

Our chakras are energy centers that vibrate in circular patterns. Everything we encounter in our daily life impacts our chakra energies. Colors, sounds, and even the food we eat impact our energies.

Every meal we eat has a vibration attached to it. As we consume and digest these meals, the intrinsic vibration of the food gets absorbed by our chakras. As we eat food that resonates with the Ajna chakra, the energy flow starts to improve here.

The sixth chakra is located at the center of the eyebrows. Also known as the center of wisdom and intuition, when in balance, this chakra offers clarity, peacefulness, and intuition. This chakra helps us grow and connect with our spiritual selves. An imbalance in this chakra will not only hinder our spiritual connection but also lead to feelings of jealousy, judgement, and negativity. In the physical body, it may also manifest as vision problems, sinus, headaches, and neurological concerns.

The color of this chakra is indigo and is often associated with purple as well. Look for foods with these color tones such as blueberries, purple grapes, purple cabbage, and purple carrots. These foods have an intrinsic connection with the mind and help support a healthy and active brain.

The Ajna chakra regulates our connection with our spiritual self. It controls our intuition, imagination, and ability to see beyond the physical. Any imbalance in this chakra can impact the nervous system and the brain leading to a variety of concerns from headaches and blurred vision to sinus.

In some cases, these may also be chronic conditions caused due to blockage and imbalance in the Ajna chakra. Try eating food with purple and blue tones to elevate the energy here.

Further, you can also add foods that are rich in flavonoids and which support serotonin production such as raw cacao. These foods can help lower levels of stress and inflammation leading to ease in the body.

These foods resonate with the Ajna chakra as well as help support the pineal gland.

Ayurveda recommends a sattvic diet as it has a much higher vibration and works wonderfully to support our energy centers. Choose fresh and organic vegetables that are locally grown as they will have a higher vibration. Also, be sure to eat your meals in a relaxed and happy state. Eating when stressed can also compromise the energy of the food and the way it is digested and absorbed by the body.
