Description

Ajwain Oil is made from a spice named Ajwain, which is grown in the Asian sub-continent. It is also known as Bishops weed. It is sometimes used as an ingredient in many dishes. It is also known as Omam in many parts of South India. Ajwain Oil is extracted from the seeds of this plant. It is used for various therapeutic and Aroma Therapy purposes.

Ajwain was originated in Middle East, probably in Egypt. It is primarily grown in Indian subcontinent and also in Iran and Afghanistan. It is primarily found in river banks of India, Afghanistan, Iran and Egypt. In India, the major Ajwain producing states are Rajasthan, and Gujarat.

Application:

  • Ajwain Oil has antiseptic and germicide properties.
  • It can be used to cure diarrhoea, ulcers, indigestion, ringworm and other similar diseases.
  • It can also be used for respiratory diseases.
  • It is often used to cleanse eyes and ears.

  • Mix few drops of oil in massage oil during body massage
  • Add few drops of oil in hot bath water during bath
  • Add few drops of oil in water and use in diffuser for lingering fragrance and relaxation
  • Rub on palms and inhale or apply on body parts for relief
