About Goddess Chinnamasta | Significance of Chinnamasta Homa Puja & Yagna

Goddess Chinnamasta is the sixth among the ten wisdom goddesses. She is also renowned as ‘Prachanda Chandika’, ‘Jogani Maa’, Chinnamastika and many other names. Goddess Chinnamasta is one of the fierce forms of Supreme Mahadevi. According to Her iconography, Maa Chinnamasta is portrayed standing on a copulating couple. She is nude and holds Her own severed head in one hand and holds a scimitar in the other hand. Three jets of blood spurt out of Her severed head. One jet of blood is seen falling in Her own severed mouth while the other to jets of blood are savoured by two of Her female attendants namely Varini and Dakini. She is portrayed wearing a garland of skulls and a serpent and a sacred thread.

Chinnamasta is the Goddess of self-control and represents two divine aspects of Mahadevi namely one who gives life and one who gives death. She helps one to come closer to the higher self and forms the driving force that helps in awakening of kundalini. This tantric goddess teaches us many important life lessons and is mostly revered as the Goddess of transformation. She helps one to grow spiritually and enhances focus and determination. Goddess Chinnamasta is highly revered in Nepal and the Northern Part of India. Goddess Chinnamasta shrines are situated at Himachal Pradesh, Rajrappa, Uttar Pradesh, Katmandu, Jharkhand and Nepal.

After completion of all puja rituals certain items are donated by Rudra Centre Puja Services on behalf of the Yajman/Participant of the Puja as per Hindu Shastras.
