Description
The water of River Godavari is considered holy and used in Hindu puja rituals. Godavari is one of the most important rivers, which starts from Brahmagiri Hills at Trimbakeshwar (Nasik), and flows through the Deccan plateau of India. It holds religious significance, is worshipped as a Goddess and as per mythology, is considered the sister of the sacred River Ganga. Lord Shri Ram and Laxmanjee is said to have taken a holy bath in the Godavari on coming to know about the demise of their father, King Dasharath.
