Lord Kartikeya is the Son of Lord Shiva & Parvati, brother of Lord Ganesha, God of War & Commander in Chief of Dev Lok’s (Heaven) army is the principal deity of the Yajna. Performing Kartikeya Puja helps one gain vitality, youthfulness, energy, lifeforce so he or she can tackle their problems head on and achieve success in all spheres of life. Lord Kartikeya is revered by many names such as Murugan, Subramaniam, Skanda, Guha and as Sanmukha (the one with six faces). Lord Kartikeya symbolizes power and strength and is an embodiment of perfection. He is described as a handsome, youthful Deity, who rides a peacock which symbolizes victory over egos and vices. He is a brave leader of God’s forces, created to destroy the demons which represent the negative tendencies in all of us. The most prominent weapon He holds is the Spear, called Vel, which is said to be a symbol of Shakti, a Bow and Arrow and in His form of Sanmukha, He holds other weapons too. Lord Kartikeya bestows victory and fame; He is worshipped for wish fulfilment and to gain a charismatic personality. Worshipping Lord Kartikeya also provides relief from Mangal Dosha and Kuja Dosha.
