Description

Kewra Oil is obtained from the fruits of Kewra plant. Kewra flowers have a sweet, perfumed Fragrance. Kewra Oil is more enchanting. It is also known as king of Orissan fragrant flowers. It is most commonly used to flavor drinks, meats, and desserts in India and south-east Asia. Some varieties of Kewra water are artificially flavored. The Kewra flower is described in the Brahmas story as the cursed flower. It is also known as Keya.
 
Screw Pine is a species of Pandanus which is native to southern Asia. It is much cultivated on the Indian East Coast. Kewra is brought from southern Asia to Taiwan, Ryuku Islands, and Japan. It is a shrub which contains fragrant flowers. The ripe fruits of Kewra owe their fragrance to Esters, Geranyl Acetate, Isopentenyl, Dimethyl Allyl Acetates and Cinnamates.
