Description

Ram Chalisa Paath is done to worship and revere Lord Ram, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Lord Ram was the king of Ayodhaya and the epic Ramayana is based on the life and times of Lord Ram. Lord Vishnu took His seventh incarnation as Lord Ram to establish Ram Rajya (Rule of Dharma) in the world and to vanquish adharma and evil. Ram Chalisa is a devotional hymn of 40 verses which praises Lord Ram and details His glories. Lord Ram is the ideal son, husband, brother, friend, king and God. He is also called Maryada Purshottam meaning the best amongst men. For His devotees Lord Ram is Brahman or the Supreme Consciousness.
