Vibhuti (Bhasma) “Bha” implies Bhartsana “to destroy” and “sma” implies smaranam “to remember”. The application of Bhasma therefore signifies destruction of the evil and remembrance of the divine. Bhasma is called Vibhuti (“glory”) as it gives glory to one who applies it and raksha (protection) as it protects the wearer from ill health and evil, by purifying him or her.

Bhasma is specially associated with Lord Shiva, and it is applied all over His idol / lingam. Devotees apply bhasma as a tripundra (the form of three lines) on the forehead.

This fragrant Vibhuti is a mix of holy ash made from burning of cow dung of native Indian cow and husk with blend of fragrant herbs. The smooth and captivating fragrance of Vibhuti fills your heart with joy. Vibhuti is a symbolism of detachment and renunciation. It is applied on the forehead as a tripundra tilak or between the eyebrows to stimulate ajna chakra-the seat of wisdom, on chest to stimulate Anahata Chakra- the centre of love and on throat pit to stimulate Vishuddha chakra – the seat of self-expression and communication.
