Hay fever is a form of allergy caused by pollen or dust that causes inflammation of the mucous tissues of the eyes and nose, resulting in a running nose and watery eyes. It is produced by an allergic reaction to substances in the air. Hay fever, contrary to its name, does not indicate that the person is allergic to hay and has a fever. Hay fever, also known as hypersensitive rhinitis, is a common condition with symptoms similar to a cold. Sneezing, congestion, a gooey nose, and sinus pressure are all possible symptoms.
