Swadhisthana or the Sacral Chakra is the second Chakra which governs the personality of an individual. The word Swadhisthana means the ‘abode of the self’ thus this is where the personality of an individual resides.
The sacral chakra is located in the lower abdomen between the navel and the pelvic region, and is orange in color and is also associated with creativity, joy, pleasure, hope, sexuality and self-confidence. The element associated with the Swadhisthana Chakra is water and just like water, the Chakra symbolizes softness and fluidity but also immense power. It is where the second level of development of an individual takes place, which is the evolution of inner consciousness. It is also the seat of the subconscious in which all the experiences and impressions of our life are stored.
Swadhisthana Chakra is associated with the emotional body, sensuality and creativity. A balanced Swadhisthana Chakra is the foundation of a healthy ego that allows us to interact with the world without belittling ourselves or pretending to be someone we are not.
An individual with a balanced Swadhisthana Chakra will be able to express his creativity and also enjoy pleasures of life. On the other hand, an unbalanced Swadhisthana Chakra results in the below-mentioned issues and problems.

When this Chakra is blocked it affects one’s overall well-being. A person experiences a lack of control that ranges from uncertainty to an inability to adapt to life changes. This results in the accumulation of negativity and negative emotions, including jealousy, rage, hatred, greed, and more.
A blockage in the Swadhisthana Chakra leads to emotional instability in a person, and it also hinders self-expression. A person is unable to cope with life changes and gets detached with oneself and one’s emotions.
