The grand Dasavatar Shaligram Murti is carved meticulously on a single piece of natural Shaligram stone. It is skilfully hand crafted, depicting the 10 Avatars of Lord Vishnu – Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, Narsimha, Vamana, Parasurama, Rama, Krishna, Balarama, Kalki. The full form of Lord Vishnu is seen standing on a Lotus in the middle, with His right hand raised in the Abhaya Mudra, assuring blessings and protection.
The Murti portrays Lord Vishnu’s Avatars by their characteristic heads, 5 on each side of His head. There are 10 hands attached to either side of His body, holding weapons and other items associated with the various Avatars. Lord Vishnu’s attire, jewellery, garland and pleasant facial expressions are clearly carved.
