Description
Ginger Oil is extracted root of the perennial Ginger herb. This grows to 3 – 4 feet high (approximately 1 meter) in height and it has an extremely characteristic thick and spreading tuberous rhizome. The root is macerated and then distilled over a very high heat to extract the Oil.
The ginger plant originates from India, but it has been also cultivated in China, Java, and Europe. It is said that Ginger was brought to Europe during 10th century as a spice and sauce. It is also described in literature Greek, Romans, and Arabian literature. It has been used for medicinal purposed in ancient times. The Chinese used ginger in their medicines to treat respiratory infection and arthritis.
