The Muladhara or Root Chakra is located at the level of the coccyx, at the base of the spine. As the name suggests, the Root Chakra allows one to connect the body to the Earth through rooting. As it connects us to Mother Earth, it bestows solidity through physical body, structure through the skeletal system and support through legs and feet. Thus the Muladhara Chakra is linked mainly to the survival and support aspect of our existence. The Muladhara Chakra is the place where the Kundalini lies coiled(like a snake), till it is awakened, for spiritual ascension.
When the Muladhara Chakra is balanced the person is practical, feels secure and supported and has a good physic. When the Root Chakra is blocked and unbalanced, the individual is unnecessarily fearful of everything, feels unsupported, left alone, abandoned, is not grounded, feels constantly insecure about money, feels there is lack of money, draws struggles in earning money where survival becomes a challenge.
