Description
Recitation of Shiva Tandava Stotra is most dear to Lord Shiva. Shiv Tandava Stotra is also known as Ravana Tandava Stotra, because this stotra is composed by demon king Ravana. Once Ravana tried to lift the Kailash Mountain and take Lord Shiva along with it to Lanka. Lord Shiva pressed his toe and crushed the fingers of Ravana under the mountain. To please Lord Shiva, the demon king started to sing the Shiv Tandav Stotram which consists of 15 verses. In the hymn, Ravana sings the glories of Lord Shiva with immense love and devotion which makes the compassionate Lord release Him. Reciting the Shiv Tandav Stotram detaches one from ego, provides relief from miseries, purifies oneself and blesses one with spiritual growth and divine grace of Lord Shiva.
