Description

Vastra Daan means donation of clothes. Food, clothing and shelter are considered as the three basic necessities of life thus donations of these three are considered highly virtuous. It is believed that the one who donates clothes never faces financial issues and problems in his life. He is blessed with happiness and contentment and grace and blessings of the Divine. As per scriptures one should never donate torn clothes, in fact one should donate clothes which are new or of the condition that one himself wears or uses. Also the donation should be given to such a person who uses the donated clothes. Vastra Daan should be done with humility then only full fruit of charity is obtained. In scriptures it is mentioned that by doing daan, wealth does not decrease but increases. By donating one can remove all the sorrows and miseries of life.
